about

Detroit in the 80s was a bizarre place. More of a skeleton than a town. This is about going to an illegal club on acid one night. Lynda Mandolyn played bass on this; it was going to be a song for our shoegaze band originally.

lyrics

Michigan Avenue winds its way through downtown late at night.
The streetlights dim, the buildings hard.
The moon is full and skeletal, and though it's very bright
who knows what might be happening here.

Detroit haunted city, Detroit nights.
Detroit skeleton city, Detroit nights.

The building used to be a bank, god knows who own it now
It's full of kids who are in the know.
When no one's watching you can do the things that you love
like drinking wine and dancing with the ghosts.

Now those days are gone. We've all moved away.
But we carry the experiences all our haunted days.

Detroit haunted city, Detroit nights.
Detroit skeleton city, Detroit nights.
